This prestigious honor commends schools “for their innovative efforts to reduce environmental impact and utility costs, improve health and wellness, and ensure effective sustainability education.” Building Their Future Middle schoolers were given the building blocks to their future when OCS high schoolers visited them to talk about their experiences – answering questions about academics, athletics and even traveling to Greece! Our Grecian Odyssey Students from 10th and 11th grade attended the 9-day EF Tour “Grecian Odyssey” as the inaugural international trip for OCHS! Students visited Athens, took a cruise to 3 islands, the Corinth Canal, Nafplio, Olympia, Delphi and more! Students practiced their Greek ordering food, shopping, and interacting with local guides. As you may be aware, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are tracking the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. The Delaware Health and Social Services has advised that for the general public, the immediate health risk from coronavirus disease is low. Nonetheless, with cases of COVID-19 coronavirus reported in several countries including the U.S., Campus Operations Officer Riccardo Stoeckicht and I are developing a multi-tiered plan for potential episodic or systemic spread of the illness. Adult Greek Classes Update It is our great pleasure to inform you that the Greek language classes are starting on Tuesday, December 3, 2019. Classes will run once a week from 4:00 pm to 5:45 pm (there is a possibility of a 10-minute break) in Room #115 at the Middle School Building #21. The annual tuition fees are $300. This is a beginners’ course for those with little or no prior knowledge of Modern Greek. The emphasis will be on the development of reading, listening and speaking skills in everyday situations. Board Meeting Updates The School Board will meet every 3rd Wednesday of the month in the Lower School 2nd Floor Multi-Purpose Room, at 7:00pm.
